James Edward Redick age 90, went to be with his Lord on October 29, 2021 at the Fairfield Medical Center. He was born to the late Russell Sr. & Margaret (Smith) Redick. He was married on 7/22/1956 for 53 years to his loving wife, Mary Larson Redick, who passed 10/17/2009.
He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran, who worked many years at Lancaster Glass Park Plant then retired from Hordis Brothers. For several years he was the Committee Chairman for the Boys Scouts of America Troops 42 & 386. He attended 6th Ave United Methodist Church, was a member of The American Legion Post 11, AMVETS OH1985, Eagles 2120, and the Moose Lodge 955.
James is survived by brother, William (Jackie) Redick, sister, Norma (Ray) Hiles; daughter, Vivian (Jeff) Shumaker, sons, Ricky, Edward (Flo) and Doug Redick; grandchildren, Angela Persinger, Kassandra Persinger, Charles (Aleasha) Redick, Stephanie (Patrick) Davis, Melissa (Joel Magalski) Redick and James Redick; great grandchildren, Andrew, Alexis (Jacob), Parker, Kaliaunni, Isaiah, Aleigha, Landon, Tesla, Leonidas, Finneas, and Magnolia; two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents and wife, brothers, Russell Jr., Robert, Donald, and granddaughter Carri Ann Persinger.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, Nov 5th at 10:30AM at the Frank E Smith Funeral Home. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 2PM until 4PM and 6PM until 8PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens with military Honors provided by the Lancaster burial Detail. Online condolences can be made at www.funeralhome.com
