James E. Powers

James E. Powers 90 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away Monday, December 7, 2020 at Laurels at Norworth.  He was a Korean Conflict veteran serving in the US Army and was a truck driver for over 71 years.  James also did bulk delivery of newspapers for the Columbus Dispatch from 1981 until 2013.

James is survived by his sister, Karen Reese of Lancaster, Ohio; children, Kathy Myers of Gahanna, Lisa (Bob) Post Canal Winchester, Cindy (Ky Reed) Powers of Gahanna and Timothy (Cindy) Powers of Lancaster; eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; nieces and nephews along with his canine companions, Snoopy and Eddie.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan E. Powers, son, Jimmy Powers and parents, Edward and Ruth (Donley) Powers.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 12 noon in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Chaplain Kermit Welty officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville, Ohio. Friends may visit 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. In accordance with State mandates, COVID Protocols including facial coverings and social distancing will be followed.
