James P. "Brigg" Morgan

James P. “Brigg” Morgan 90 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away Monday, September 26, 2022 at the Pickering House.

He was a Korean Conflict veteran serving in the US Army as a Sargent.  He was the retired owner and operator of Brigg’s Pool Hall and was a member of AARP, Fairfield County Heritage Association, VFW Post 1380, American Legion Post 11, and Amvets.  Brigg liked horse racing, sports, making wine and enjoyed traveling with his wife Sophie.

Brigg is survived by his sisters, Patricia Thress and Phyllis Kay Bowersock both of Lancaster, Ohio, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.  A special thank you from the family goes to niece Misty Thress-Connell and Paul and Kathi.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sophie, parents, Clyde and Irene Morgan, brothers and sisters-in-law Jerry (Marlene), Jack (Wanda), Joe, John (Norma) Morgan, brother-in-law, James W. Thress, and best friends Jim and Jeannie Kraft.

A graveside service will be held Friday, September 30, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. at Forest Rose Cemetery with Chaplain Mark Linn officiating. Friends may visit Friday from 11:00 am-1:00 pm at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130.
