James Dains

James R. Dains, 70, of Logan, Ohio passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2013, at the Pickering House in Lancaster.

James retired from General Motors after 30 years of service.

James is survived by his son, Thomas (Sheila) Dains of Columbus; daughters, Deborah Dains of Gahanna and Brenda Carlson-Dains of Michigan; grandchildren, Michael, Samantha, Josh, Thomas James Jr., and Heather; step grandchildren, Michael, Elizabeth, Natalie, and Joseph; eight great grandchildren; brother, Bill (Florence) Dains and family of Toldeo; uncle and aunt, Wilbur and Pauleta Fuller of Logan; and many nieces and nephews from the Ball, Smith, and Tilley families.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Edna Dains; and sister Jean Ball.

Funeral service for James will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N Columbus St, Lancaster, Ohio 43130, with Pastor Bill Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery, Columbus. Family and friends may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
