Jacob “Jake” Thomas Smith, 30, of Lancaster, Ohio passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at his residence. He was born on January 15, 1987 in Logan, Ohio to Jenny Thornton and Thomas (Shawn) Smith. Jacob enjoyed listening to music, laughing with friends, reading comic books and spending time with his sister, Kilynn Deible whom he adored immensely. He was a fan of all things superheroes and knew everything you could possibly know about comics and Star Trek.
Jacob’s daughter, Kenna Smith and her brothers, Austyn (Miller) and Cameron (Castle) were the brightest spots in his life. Their favorite things to do together were swinging on the swings at the park and eating ice cream. He loved them with every ounce of his being and he loved watching them grow. He shared a strong loving bond with their mother, Kendra Smith. He was passionate about reminding them that no matter what, they were loved.
Jacob was hard-working and enjoyed working to support the people he loved. He had a deep appreciation for artwork and tattoos. Many people will remember him for his unique tattoos. He would be described as forgiving by everyone who knew him. This made him very real. Jacob valued sitting down at the dinner table and having meals with the people he loved. His genuine, loving smile will be missed by many family and friends. He made a positive impact on so many people and you just couldn’t help but love him for who he was. Most would remember him for his unique fashion and his incredible sense of humor. He had nothing short of a beautiful soul and free spirit.
Jacob will forever be in the hearts of his Grandparents, Gail Smith, the late Chet Smith and the late Karen Thornton; sisters, Karena Yates, Kilynn Deible, Lacey Thompson; Brother, Riely (Katie) Thompson; and Nieces, Gracie, Bellah Yates, Aislynn Kirby and Quinn Thompson; and Nephews, Elijah Yates, Little Riely Thompson, Wyatt Kirby, Gunnar and Jory George.
