Jack Tracy Hicks, 56, of Bremen died Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Fairfield Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born on October 2, 1957 in Green Sulfur Springs, West Virginia to the late Winfred Hicks and the late Mary Ellen (Harvey) Hicks.
Jack graduated from Lancaster High School in 1975.
He was a true artist and perfectionist, he worked with wood and expressed himself through his creations, which were always so beautiful. He owned and operated Hicks Collection, Inc. and was known throughout the entire community for his craftsmanship and friendship.
He was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Friend. He is survived by his wife, Christi Mathias Hicks, son, Kyle Hicks, daughters, Kara (Kurt) Schenkel and Kori Hicks; grandchildren: Brecken and Bennett Schenkel; brothers, Gordon, Leonard, Charlie, William "Dub", and Winfred "Wink"; sisters, Jeannette Brucker and Sue Henline; and many other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his two brothers, Richard Paul and David Kent Hicks.
He was a 4-H adviser and loved helping children with their projects. He was also passionate about show cattle and taught his children about values and responsibility though cattle. He always said it is so important to do what you love and taught his children through his example.
