Irene George

Irene George 83 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Carriage Court of Lancaster. She was born on April 27, 1932 in Indiana County, Pennsylvania to the Charles and Josephine Novalis Daugherty. She was a graduate of Newark Catholic High School.
She worked for North American, Anchor Hocking Glass Corp.; Lancaster Glass followed by JCPenney and was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church. She loved to travel and ride motorcycles.
Irene is survived by her daughter, Barb Stout of Lucasville, Ohio; sons, Raynor “Bud” W. George, Jr.; Rex A. (Carol) George and Martin E. (Angel) George all of Lancaster, Ohio; grandchildren, Chris, Mike, Sara, Stephanie, Samantha, Mitch, Abigail, Shelby, Tyler and Hanna; great-grandchildren, Ian and Connor; several nieces and nephew.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raynor W. George, Sr., parents, brothers, Charles and Bill Daugherty, sister, Margie Mays.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church with Fr. Peter Gideon as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster, Ohio. Friends may visit Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130.
