Irene Febus

Catherine Irene (Huber) Febus, 93, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2013, at the Fairfield Medical Center.

Irene was a member of Olivedale, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Elks BPOE, the Loyal Order of Moose, Order of United Commercial Travelers of America, and a former member of Maple Street United Methodist Church. She was co-owner, with her husband, and secretary for Febus Excavating for over 30 years. She was also an avid Ohio State Buckeyes football fan, attending many games home and away with her husband, including 4 Rose Bowls.

Irene is survived by her brothers, Carl (Helen) Huber and Floyd (Juanita) Huber; sisters, Margaret Hamilton, Mary Hager, and Phyllis (Kenny) Milliser.; many nieces and nephews; and special caregivers.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years on January 26, 2013, Lloyd W. Febus; parents, Philip and Grelda Huber; brothers, Pearl and Paul Huber; and sister, Florence Milligan.

Funeral service will be held at 10.00 a.m. Friday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Lancaster with Reverend Phyllis Fetzer officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
