Howard James Lees 92 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Homestead Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was a World War II US Army veteran. He was a retired truck driver and mechanic, a life time member of the D.A.V., VFW Post 1516, and American Legion Post 11.
Howard is survived by his wife, Lavada “Fran” Lees; son, Patrick (Nancy0 Lees of Columbus, Ohio; daughters, Karen (Marvin) Price of Idaho, Anna (Mark) Vantilburg of Kentucky and Inga Lees George of South Carolina; six grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-children, Sandra (Jerry) Bostwick of Indiana, Charles (Sharon) Saxour , and Michael Saxour all of Chillicothe, Ohio; step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren; friends and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orend and Gertrude Lees, a sister and a brother.
A graveside service will be held Friday, December 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Franklin Hills Memorial Gardens with the Lancaster Veterans Burial Detail conducting military rites at the cemetery . Caring Cremation® has taken place by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCATSER, OHIO 43130.
