Hilda Neff, the little English lady went home on Friday, January 25th, 2013. Born, Hilda Davenport, November 4th, 1920 in Manchester, England to Charles and Elizabeth Davenport. She worked on a riveting crew on the Lancashire Bomber during WWII. Met and married her husband, PFC Lewis Neff, US ARMY. She left England for Lancaster in 1946. She was particularly proud of her Naturalized Citizenship and her new country. Hilda was a wife mother, domestic worker, touching many children, house rehabilitator, and landlord. She learned to drive at the age of 58. She loved to play cards, all kinds. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She attended Faith Memorial Church. Whatever it took, she did not shirk her duties.
She is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Sandra (Mike) Schneider, her three sons, Geoffrey (Kim) Neff and Phillip (Vicky) Neff, all of Lancaster, and Brian (Doreen) Neff of Mexico, brother, Charles Davenport of Great Britain, nieces and nephews in Great Britain, Spain, and California; 14 grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren, one expected and special friends Dr. James & Rita Merk.
Along with parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Neff, 4 sisters, Olive, Flo, Ann and Sis.
In accordance with Mothers wishes and customs, Caring Cremation ® has taken place through the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME. There will be no calling hours or viewing. Additional service at the familys convenience. Memorial gifts may be given to the Samaritan Center of the Salvation Army, 228 W Hubert Ave. Lancaster, or FairHope Hospice 282 Sells Rd, Lancaster.
