Heinz Kiehnke, 73, of Milspe near Wüppertal, Germany, passed away on January 29 in Lancaster, OH.
A brief memorial service will be held (1:30pm ET) Saturday, February 5 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Lancaster. A brief reception will follow at the church. Arrangements are by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME.
Heinz was born in Milspe, Germany, to Margarethe und Erich Kiehnke, on January 20, 1949. He married Gitta L. Sadoni on April 8, 1998 in Logan, Ohio. Heinz was an honest and expert salesman, working for an American company in Germany. He was very handy and eager to help anyone in need. He loved fixing and tinkering with things. He loved listening to and making music. He was an active fan member of Borussia Dortmund Soccer Club.
Heinz is preceded in death by his brother, Klaus Kiehnke, and parents, Margarethe und Erich Kiehnke.
Heinz is survived by his spouse, Gitta L. Sadoni; children, Tom Böcker Kiehnke and Tina Kiehnke (Michael); grandchildren, Lenny Tom Böcker and Paulina Wagner; stepchildren, Eric Keith Yuckman, Timo Wieland Yuckman (Sheila), and Colin Hans Yuckman (Meredith); step-grandchildren, Darcy Anastasia Yuckman, Elon Jacob Yuckman, Tessa Cornelia Yuckman, and Ari Levi Yuckman; and beloved beagle, Gretchen.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks any donations be made in Heinz’s memory to The Hope Center at Pullen, 112 Cox Ave., Suite 1-A, Raleigh, NC 27560 (www.hopecenteratpullen.org).
