Herman Leon Sharp, Sr., 86, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, May 27, 2018.
Herman served in the U.S. Air Force, 26th Air Refueling Squadron, as an aircraft engine mechanic during the Korean War. Herman loved going to yard sales, garage sales, and flea markets in search of antiques and other great finds. He was an avid collector of watches and knives.
Herman is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Patricia Anne Sharp; children, Laleta Boyce, Herman “Pete” (Becky) Sharp, Jr., Kyle Hickman (Sharon) Sharp, Jonathan David (Stephanie) Sharp, and Sara (Jonathan) Ferbrache; step-daughter, Kay (Jerry) Hoskins; grandchildren, Heather Green, Justin Williams, Joshua (Susan) Williams, William (Tasha) Sharp, Matthew (Mandy) Sharp, Ruth Anne (Eric) Cieri, Jessica Anne (Mike) Russell, Lily (Scott) Bash, Rachel Anne Ferbrache, and Emerson Ferbrache; and nine great grandchildren.
Herman was preceded in death by his mother, Pearl Sharp; father, Ollie Hickman Sharp; step-son, Butch Arter; and grandmother, Donie Wells.
Funeral service for Herman will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, Lancaster. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Lancaster. Family and friends may visit from 4 to 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
Donations may be made in memory of Herman to The Salvation Army, 228 W. Hubert Ave, Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
