Herbert Kolman

Herbert A. Kolman, age 89 of Rushville, died April 21st, 2017 at the Pickering House. He was born to the late, Gustave and Agusta Domien Kolman in Cleveland, on March 4th, 1928. Herbert served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was an amazing carpenter who owned and operated Kolman Construction, remodeling and building houses. He was a 50 year member of the Carpenters and Jointers Union. He was a member of the American Legion in OR and a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Herbert was survived by his children, Susan (Steve) Munson, Jean Kolman, and Andrew H. (Ellen) Kolman; seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Donaleen Kolman; parents, and brothers, Walter, and Albert Kolman.

A funeral service will take place on Tuesday at 2PM at Redeemer Lutheran Church, officiated by Rev. Dr. John C. Davidson. Burial will follow the service at West Rushville Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME from 2PM until 4PM and 6PM until 8PM on Monday and one hour prior to the service at the church.
