Helen Louise (Wildermuth) Huber

March 30, 1933 — March 19, 2022

Chillicothe

Helen Louise Huber, 88, passed away Saturday morning, March 19, 2022 at her residence at Primrose Memory Care in Lancaster. Helen and her husband of 70 years, Jack, started C.N. Huber Homes in the early 1960's. Together they built over 300 homes in Fairfield County. They were each other's constant. She came from humble beginnings but had an unceasing focus on building a better life for her family. From factory worker to home business accountant, she managed to raise 6 children and serve as a never-ending source of strength to all around her. Her, sometimes rough, exterior hid the heart of a lion and her frugal ways were a reflection of the economic times in which she was raised. She drew pleasure from simple things like reading and watching westerns as well as being the best bowler in the family. She will be remembered for her tenacity.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl (Jack), her parents, Cecil and Erma Wildermuth, brothers, Larry, Bob and Dr. Ron Wildermuth, sisters, Ruth Wildermuth, Sandy Clark, son-in-law, Art Vela and beloved grandchildren, Jamey Kemmerer and Brittany Motter.
Helen and Carl were married on April Fool's Day more than 72 years ago. They had 6 children. Carla (Timothy) Crosby of Lancaster, Barbara (Ronald) Walls, of North Carolina, Cyndi Vela of Texas, David Huber of Florida, Sherry (William) Motter of Delaware, Ohio, and Joseph (Marie) Huber of Lebanon, Ohio; she was dearly loved by all of her grandchildren, Dr. Marla (Dr. Michael) Moloney, Kristyl (Josh Cash) Kemmerer, Ashley Kemmerer and her husband (Chuck Sheline), Brian Woolard, Mike Woolard, Joe Walls, Tim Walls, Josh Vela, Dr. Sara (Jake) Huber-Krum, Kyle (Sharm) Huber, Emily Huber, Mary Huber, Eric Huber, Phillip Huber, Megan (Paul) Kirian, Wesley Motter, Bailey Motter, Zach Huber, Jake Huber, Danielle Huber, Chuck Sheline, Jr., Shelby Sheline; 17 great grandchildren; sister, Naomi Kaiden and many nieces and nephews.
In a reflection of her down to earth ways, she preferred not to have a funeral and her children are honoring that request with Caring Cremation® by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, LANCASTER, OHIO. A small memorial for the family will be held later in the year.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salvation Army 228 Hubert Ave. Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or Meals on Wheels of Fairfield County 1515 Cedar Hill Rd, Lancaster, OH 43130.
