Helen L. Delong, age 90 of Zanesville, formerly of Lancaster, passed away Saturday, November 8th, 2014 at Oak Point Nursing Home in Baltic, OH.
Helen was a lifelong resident of Lancaster, yet lived in Zanesville for the past 8 years to be closer to her sister Evelyn and niece Sandy. She was married to the late, Orville Dutch DeLong who also a life resident of Lancaster.
Helen was born in Ashville on February 21, 1924 to her late parents Estle and Viva Costlow. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters; Clarabelle Costlow, Mable Costlow, Voila Costlow, Donald Costlow, Marry Ellen Costlow Paty, and Joseph Costlow. She is survived by one surviving sister, Evelyn Leisure, of Zanesville.
Helen enjoyed life and loved sewing, bird watching, and animals of all kinds. She loved her pets. Helen was an active self employed worker who cleaned for 20 houses around Lancaster. She loved music and traveling.
Helen was a good neighbor and had many friends. Helen will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, as well as several friends in Lancaster.
A service will take place on Friday at 1:30PM at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, officiated by Sandra Starcher. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
