Helen Campbell

Helen Louise (Kiphen) Campbell, 97, of Lancaster, passed away on July 24, 2015 at the Lanfair Center in Lancaster. She was born July 10, 1918 in Kokomo, Indiana. She was the oldest daughter of Clarence and Esther (Thrasher) Kiphen.
She graduated with the LHS class of 1936; Lancaster Business College in 1937 and attended OUL later in her life.

She worked at Ohio Bell Telephone Co., Diamond Power, Lancaster City Board of Education, and for 38 years for Jones Cochenour and Co. starting out with Seth P. Norman and David O. Jones.

She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, starting in 1934 when she first came to Lancaster. She served on many committees. Volunteered on the Circuit Rider, and baked cookies. She was a den mother and Girl Scout leader. She was district corresponding secretary for the Ohio Child Conservation League.

She was a past member of the American Business Association and was ABWA woman of the year in 1990 and later was chosen as Business Associate of the Year. She was an active member of the Lancaster Quota Club and served as the Quota International Sixth District Governor.

Helen is survived by her children, Jerry (Harriet) Campbell, JoAnne (Tom) Cramer, Penny (Bob) Roush, and Jeff (Carrie) Campbell; grandchildren, Cara (Greg) Mounts, Joe (Michelle) Campbell, Brandy (Dusty) Schorr, Ashley (Casey) Rainier, Traci Howell, Chad (Dana) Howell, Brad (Stacey) Roush, Brandy (Ben) Roush, Jacob (Mindy) Campbell, Lindsay (Dustin) Poling, Jesse Campbell, Allie Barnhart; 24 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchildren ; sisters, Jean Anderson; sister-in-laws, JoElla Kiphen; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Miriam Kiphen, and husband of 38 years, Perry Campbell; sisters, Betty Shannon and Sara Musser; brother, Henry Kiphen and Richard Kiphen; and infant brother, Thomas.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. the First United Methodist Church located on 163 E. Wheeling Street in Lancaster with Cheryl Foulk officiating. Burial will follow the service at Maple Grove Cemetery in Lancaster. Friends and family may visit from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home located at 405 N. Columbus St. in Lancaster. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Helen’s honor to the First United Methodist Church Crossroads Building Fund at 163 E. Wheeling St. in Lancaster.
