Harry R. Ellis, age 87 of Lancaster, died July 10th, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Pleasant twp. on Aug. 7th, 1930 to Eldon and Jessie Robinson Ellis. He served in the US. Army, was a part owner of the Tiki Bowling Lanes, a 52 year member of the UCT, installed siding, called square dancing at Olive Dale, was a past Pleasant Twp. Trustee, and a part time farmer. Harry’s personality and ability to come up with great ideas, will be greatly missed by all who know him.
He is survived by his son, Robert (Dianna) Ellis; daughter, Sherri Berry; grandchildren, Melissa (James) Fitzgerald, Abbie (Stephen) Fox, Emily Berry, Kyle Berry, Amie Jo Ellis; step grandson, Austin Howard, several nieces and nephews, and fiancé, Helen Dickens.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Aimie Jo Ellis; wife, Dorothy Ellis; son-in-law, Gordon Berry; granddaughter, Keisha Ellis; siblings, Betty M. Ellis and Bertha Foster.
A funeral service will take place Friday at 10:30AM at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home. Caring Cremation™ will follow the service. Family and friends may call from 2PM until 4PM and 6PM until 8PM at the funeral home on Thursday. Memorials in Harry’s name can be made to the O.U. C. T, Fraternal Benefit Society, and P.O.
