Gwendola June (Lattimer) Cummans

Gwendola June Lattimer Cummans, age 85 of Sugar Grove, went to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, Oct. 22, 2023.  She was born to the late Pearl and Eudella Hite Lattimer on Jan. 13, 1938 in Thurston. She was a 1956 graduate of Rushville Union High School.  She was the loving wife of 51yrs to the late Rev. Donald Lee Cummans and her life revolved around her family, church, cooking, gardening,(people said she had the most beautiful flowers in the neighborhood) quilting, and making the world a better place.  Her positive personality and love for the Lord and life will be fondly remembered.

She is survived by her daughters, Naomi (Jack) McGrady and Alicia (Dave) Hughes; grandson, Adam (Kristen) Hughes of Bedford, VA, and granddaughter, Ellie Hughes; sister, Priscilla Singer; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, Jacob Hughes; and sisters, Juanita Smith and Phyllis Smith.

A funeral service will take place on Friday at 11AM at the Shining Light Community Church, 1868 E. Main St. Lancaster, officiated by pastors Seth Brisker and Adam Hughes. A graveside service will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Rushville.  Family and friends may call Thursday from 2PM to 4PM and 6PM to 8PM at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, 405 N.
