Gretchen “Bunny” Bauer, 79, of Hide-A-Way Hills, passed away peacefully at her home on the evening of July 8, 2022. Bunny was born on April 21, 1943 to Norman and Ella Volz of Columbus, Ohio. She was a graduate of Eastmoor High School. Bunny married Paul Edward Bauer on August 4, 1962.
She was preceded in death by her infant sons, Matthew and Timothy; her parents, Norman and Ella; her brother and sisters, Jerry, Patricia, Molly, and Nancy. Bunny is survived by her husband, Paul; children, David (Angie) Bauer and Kathy Weatherby; grandchildren, Timothy (Jennifer), Maximus, Kiana, Christopher (Ashley), and Michael; and great grandchildren, Benjamin, Dakota, and Kyrie.
Bunny was passionate about serving her community and gave many years of service to the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, St. James the Less Catholic Church, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Catholic Church, Chevington Woods Garden Club, Hide-A-Way Hills Chapel, TWIG 7 at Fairfield Medical Center, and Lancaster First United Methodist Church. She loved gardening, baking and decorating cakes, sewing, painting, traveling, watching OSU Buckeyes play football, and spending time with her friends and family.
Bunny will be cremated at Frank E. Smith Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster, Ohio. A remembrance ceremony is planned at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sugar Grove, Ohio on July 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM.
