Grace Karshner

Grace L. Karshner, 98, of Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2014, at Lanfair Center. Grace was born December 26, 1915, in Ross County, Ohio to the late Alvin and Cordia Hatmaker.

Grace was a charter member of the Lancaster United Brethren Church. She also worked several years for the Irving Drew Shoe Company.

Grace is survived by her daughter, Sandra K. (Roger) Hale; granddaughter, Jodi (Barry) Poling of Bremen; great grandchildren, Rachel N. Moyer, Wyatt D. Moyer, and Luke C. Poling; and several nieces and nephews.

Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Durrell Karshner in 1996; three sisters; and one brother.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday at the Lancaster United Brethren Church, 1125 Pleasantville Rd, Lancaster, Ohio 43130 with Pastor Greg Voight and Pastor Henry Cadwell officiating. Burial will follow in Green Summit Cemetery, Adelphi, Ohio. Friends may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Wednesday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N Columbus St, Lancaster, Ohio 43130 and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

The family of Grace would like to thank the staff at Lanfair Center, Primrose Retirement Community, and FairHoPe Hospice for all of their care.
