Grace Juanita Claypool

Grace Juanita Claypool, age 95 of Lancaster passed away peacefully on Thurs. Feb. 17, 2022 at the Pickering House.  Juanita was born on Oct. 17, 1926 to the late Grover and Maggie (Souders) Bowers in Fairfield County.  She was the youngest of five children.

Juanita was a 1945 graduate of Canal Winchester High School.  She was a stay at home mother that took care of her husband and three sons.  Juanita enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends that helped on the farm over the years.  She was a lifelong member of the Calvary Lutheran Church. She was a lifetime member of the Farm Bureau Councils #19 and #33. Juanita enjoyed going to auctions and collecting tea leaf dishes.  She also loved baking cookies with her great-granddaughters

She is survived by her loving son, David Claypool; grandson, Jason (Michelle) Claypool; loving grand-daughters, Ashley and Carley Claypool; daughters-in-law, Linda and Nancy Claypool; many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 66 years, Don C. Claypool; sons  Daniel and Timothy Claypool; siblings, Floyd and Frederick Bowers, Helen Shonebarger, and Dorothy Smith.

The Family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Pickering House for their excellent care.

A funeral service will take place on Tuesday Feb. 22nd at 1PM at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor William Syfert. Burial will follow at Green Mound Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Monday from 4PM until 7 PM at the funeral home.
