Gordon Lee Poulson, age 83, of Lancaster, died October 8th, 2014 at Homestead Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born on December 30th, 1930 to the late, Carl R. Sr. and Edna Bailey Poulson in Council Bluffs, IO. He was a Korean War era veteran. Gordon was a deputy auditor for Fairfield County and a member of St. Johns Episcopal Church. Gordon was named in a book kept at the Smithsonian, for his work at the Kilauea Volcano eruption. Gordon was a wonderful man who will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Bonnie A. Poulson; children, Steve (Connie Barnes) Poulson of Coucil Bluffs, IA, Joe (Rhonda) Poulson of Conway, AR, Kriss (Maria) Poulson of Barra de Navidad , Mexico; Roger Poulson of Lancaster, and Suzan (Dr. Ron) Heiber of Lancaster; several grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Irene Sweeney of Portland, OR; and several nieces and nephews.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Carl R. Poulson Jr. and Oliver K. Poulson; and sister, Katherine Poulson.
A service will take place on Monday at 10:30AM at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME in Lancaster, officiated by Reverend William Pursley. Caring Cremation ® will follow the service.
