Gloria (Kempton) Asbell, 73 of Millersport passed away Nov 4th, 2021. She was born to the late John and Amelia (Bevis) Kempton Sr. in Lancaster on Nov 22, 1947. She was a member of the Maple Grove United Brethren Church and also a member of the Rebekah Lodge. Gloria worked for 20+ years at Anchor Hocking where she was a Glass Selector and then became a Caregiver through the Salvation Army, enjoying helping people in need. She was amazing at puzzles, crossword puzzles, and dutifully followed her OSU Buckeyes. Gloria's love for life and giving personality will be greatly missed by all.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Trent and Trinity Asbell; brothers, John (Judy) Kempton Jr. and Gary (Cathy) Kempton; several nieces, nephews, and all her church friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Don William Asbell Jr.; brother, Glen (Valerie) Bevis; and her parents.
A funeral service will take place at the Johnson-Smith Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 26 at 1PM, officiated by Pastor Mike Willis. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Friends and family may call from 11AM until 1PM at the funeral home on Friday. Donations in Gloria's name can be made to the Maple Grove United Brethren Church, 9880 Lancaster-Newark Rd.
