Gladys Wright

Gladys E. Wright, 91, of Newark, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at home on Tuesday, September 2, 2014. She taught Sunday school for 30 years and was a choir member with the New Life Christian Center in Lancaster. She attended New Life Christian Center since 1960 and has attended The Life Church in Heath, Ohio since 2002.

Gladys is survived by her husband of 72 years, Delbert Wright; children Thomas (Sandy) Wright of Hamilton, OH; Paul (Sharon) Wright of Lancaster; Nathan (Carrie) Wright of Sabina, OH; James (Juanita) Wright of Hamilton, OH; Deborah (John) Levier of Newark, OH; and Daniel (Debbie) Wright of Larel, IN.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Jim (Gertrude) Carpenter and Grant (Karen) Carpenter; and sister, Ruth (Richard) Armstrong.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Floyd and Eva Carpenter; brother, Dwight Carpenter.

The funeral service will take place on Friday, September 5, at 1 p.m. in New Life Christian Center, 2642 Columbus-Lancaster Road in Lancaster with Pastor Gary Keller officiating, and burial will follow at Carroll Cemetery. Calling will be held at the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME 207 S. Main St. in Baltimore, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and on Friday one hour prior to the service. Memorials can be made to Hospice of Central Ohio.
