Gladys Wacker

Gladys L. Wacker, 89, of Lancaster, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, October 27, 2014 at her home.

She was born near Pleasantville, Fairfield County, Ohio, on December 19, 1924 to Ethel and Hiram Sheets. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Lancaster and also attended Baltimore United Methodist Church, Baltimore. She was a realtor and broker for Wacker Realty and Gladys Wacker Realty. She was a former member of the National, State, and local real estate associations, Quota Club and National Secretary Association. She was selected as Secretary of the Year in 1969. She was active in the Fairfield County Republican Central and Executive Committees having served as secretary to the Executive Committee for six years. She was selected Republican of the Year in 1997.

She is survived by her son, Roger (Melinda) Ansel of Lancaster, step-sister Martina Stein, sister-in-law Louise Sheets and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel and Hiram Sheets and Nial Scott, her husband Gail Wacker, brother Carl Sheets, step-brothers Stanley and Millard Scott, step-sisters Wilda Meadows, Hazel Cuckler, Pauline Vine, Inez Cloutier, and step-sister-in-law Eileen Scott.

Friends may call Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, Lancaster, Ohio. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 11a.m. at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home with Pastor Cheryl Foulk officiating. Burial will follow in the Grandview Cemetery in Bremen, Ohio.
