George Hobert Johnson

Lancaster - George Hobert Johnson, age 83, went to be with the Lord on November 12, 2022.

George was born in Colton, Ohio to Cecile and Grace Ydoine (Frisby) Johnson on September 28, 1939. He served in the Army, and was a member of the American Legion Post 25, in Washington Courthouse. George worked as a truck driver for Land O’Lakes; in later years he spent his time at the Olde Shoe Factory Antique Mall in Lancaster. He also enjoyed his time with his church family at the Bible Baptist Church. Those close to him affectionately called him uncle Hobie.

He will be remembered as a servant of the Lord, a loving husband, and a faithful and generous friend to all who knew him.

George is survived by his wife Alberta (McCray) Johnson; niece Debbie (Jim) Beard; and many special family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and son Joseph Stanley Johnson.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 17, 2022 at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, 405 N. Columbus St. Lancaster, OH 43130, from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM. The funeral service, officiated by Pastor Roy Maple, will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Highlawn Memory Gardens, in Washington Court House.
