George "Dick" Gunder

George “Dick” Gunder, 83, of Lancaster, passed away at his home on Friday, September 4, 2015.

Dick was a member of Maple Street United Methodist Church, the Lancaster Elks Lodge, and a member of the Rushville Lions Club. He retired from Anchor Hocking Glass Company after 40 years of service. Dick served in the U.S. Army.

Dick is survived by his wife of 61 years, Donna M. Gunder; daughters, Kimberly (Mark) Renko of Lancaster and Shelby Sturt of Sylvania, Ohio; grandchildren, Kaylnn Renko, Stacy Renko, Jacob (Leah) Sturt, and Lucas Sturt; brother-in-law, Jack Schomer of Scottdale, Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Orlando and Verna Gunder; and his sister, Maxine Schomer.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Lancaster with Reverend Phyllis Fetzer officiating. Friends may visit from 2 - 4 and 6 -8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be at a later date in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Dick to the Maple Street United Methodist Church, 438 E. Wheeling St, Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
