George Ellis

George N. Ellis 88 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Fairfield Medical Center.

He retired from the City of Lancaster Utilities Department with over 20 years of service. He was a member of Fifth Avenue Church of Christ, loved his family and liked all type of cars.

George is survived by his wife of 67 years, Alberta (Bert) Ellis, whom he married in 1949; son, Jeffrey Alan (Fiancé Shirley Carlene Rodriguez) Ellis of Lancaster, Ohio; daughters-in-law, Tina Ellis and Brenda Ellis; four grandchildren, Kyle Ellis, Jordan Ellis, Tara Ellis, and Eric Ellis; two step-grandchildren, Daniel Roble and Amanda Roble; two great-children, Ian M. Ellis and Emma R. Ellis; five step great-grandchildren, sister, Jean Goldfarb of Lancaster, Ohio and niece, Connie Lane.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Samuel and Lena Ellis, in-laws, Charles S. and Josie Queen, son, G. Steven Ellis and grandson, Cory Allen Ellis.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Pastor Brad Seevers officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens with the Baltimore VFW Post 3761 conducting military rites at the cemetery. Friends may visit Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
