Gene Steeves

Gene H. Steeves, age 55 of Crooksville, died in an automobile accident on Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016. He was born in Mora, MN on July 29th, 1960 to George and Sharon Sundstrom Steeves. Gene was a drill Instructor for 13 years in the US Marines and was currently a Junior at Ohio University working on his Civil Engineering Degree. Gene was an avid motorcycle rider who was a member of the Patriot Riders District #5; Southern Cruisers Riding Club 112; and enjoyed breakfast and riding with the Fossils Motorcycle Club. Gene will be greatly missed.

Gene is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sharon Yates Steeves of Crooksville; son, Ronald Steeves; daughters Vanessa (Ryan) Kemper, and his riding buddy Rayanna Steeves; grandchildren, Logan, Jaden, Zane, and Kattie; mother, SHaron Steves; brothers, Jerry (Barb) Steeves, Glenn (Becky) Steeves, and George Steeves Jr.; sister, Gloria (Craig) Kangaf; and best friend Don Bennett.

Gene was preceded in death by his father; and brothers Brad and Galen Steeves.

A funeral service will take place at 11AM on Monday March the 7th at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, 405 N. Columbus St. Lancaster, OH 43130. Family and friends may call at the funeral home 2 hours prior to the service on Monday morning. Burial will follow the service at Floral Hills Memory Garden.
