Gene McDonald

Biography

Gene H. McDonald, 78, of Rushville, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2014, at his home.

Gene was a member of the Rushville United Methodist Church and a member of the Rushville Lions Club. He was a member of the Rushville Masonic Lodge #211, Lancaster Chapter #11, Lancaster Council #3, and Lancaster Commandery #2. Gene loved caring for animals, especially his cats; and supporting animal rescue organizations.

Gene is survived by his step-children, Marvin Scott (Connie) Moyer of Bremen and Stephanie (Dennis) Devore of Oklahoma; sister, Kathleen Hudson; brother-in-law, Lewis Laird; and sister-in-law, Frances Jarrell-Matz.

Gene was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Emma “Jerri” McDonald; parents, Gala and Mary McDonald; and brothers, Russell McDonald, George McDonald, and Dale McDonald.

Caring Cremation has taken place through the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, Lancaster.
