Gary L. Massie, age 40, of Lancaster died Sunday, November 6, 2011, at University Hospital, Columbus. He was a member of the Free Pentecostal Church, Buchtel; a former member of the American Legion Post #11; and served in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy L. Massie; daughters, Abigail Marie Massie and Erin E. Swain; son, Ethan Ryan Massie; father, Gary M. Massie; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Terry and Patricia Spangler, Logan.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Pamela Pannkin and grandparents, Melvin and Alberta Dwyer Sr. and Millard and Vergie Massie.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 3:00 pm at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, Lancaster with Pastor Tina Brooks officiating. Caring Cremation will follow. Friends may call Wednesday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family in care of the funeral home.
