Gary Lee Kilbarger, 67, of Lancaster, OH passed away at his home on Monday, September 29, 2014.
Gary was born on February 26, 1947 in Lancaster, Ohio. When Gary was young, his family lived on their farm in Bremen, OH until moving to Lancaster, OH as a youth. Upon graduation from Lancaster High School he joined the Navy, where he served as a member of the Crash Fire Division. Gary was a member of the Lancaster Fire Department for 24 years and Local 291 Fire Department. After his retirement, he enjoyed camping with his family and driving Linda crazy. He was known by many for his great sense of humor, his generous spirit, his musical abilities and his wood crafting skills. He was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Linda, his children, Nichelle, Chris and Dwayne, his mother, Julia, his brother, Mike, and sister, Judy and nine grandchildren…all of whom adored him dearly. Gary is preceded in death by his father, Francis and his brother, Paul.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 5, 2014 at 4:00PM. at Faith Memorial Church, 2610 W. Fair Avenue in Lancaster, Ohio with Pastor Jonathan Morgan officiating. . Caring Cremation® has taken place by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130. Friends may visit 2:00–4:00PM at the church on Sunday, and a gathering of family and friends will follow the service.
