Garland R. Sheline, Jr., 68, of Columbus, passed away on Friday, May 25, 2018. He was born July 25, 1949, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Cora and Garland Sheline, Sr.

Garland retired after 25 years of combined military service. While serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, he completed 2 tours during the Vietnam War and was awarded 5 Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star with Valor. He finished his military career serving in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his sons, Jonathan D. (Jenny) Sheline, Charles R. (Ashley) Sheline, Sean (Mindy) Sheline, and Michael (Sabrina) Sheline; sisters, Gerry Sheline and Mary (Clarence) Miller; ten grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, 405 N. Columbus St, Lancaster, Ohio 43130. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Columbus with Military Honors by the Reynoldsburg VFW Post #9473. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
