G. R. "Bob" Rosier

G. R. “Bob” Rosier 81 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at his home.  He was born on February 9, 1942 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Charles W. Rosier and Naomi (Hawkins) Davis.

Bob was a Carroll High School graduate Class of 1960 and was in the Carroll H.S. Sports Hall of Fame. He played on the first football team for Carroll High School in 1959. He also was a three time Fairfield County Junior Golf Champ and the first golfer from Carroll High School to play in the Ohio State High School Golf Tournament.

He served his country in the US Army during Vietnam. Bob was a salesman for Anchor Hocking Glass Corporation with 40 years of service.  While working for Anchor Hocking Glass Corporation, he obtained his auctioneer’s license. Bob was an auctioneer for 43 years.

He was an honorary life member of the Lancaster-Fairfield County Charity Newsies where he was the auctioneer for the annual sports auction for over 40 years.  Bob loved the Fairfield County Fair and was found every day at the north side entrance for the last 35 years giving directions to those that needed them. He had an extreme love for golfing and playing whenever he could.  Bob was the Super Senior Club Champion of Valley View Golf Club of 2016. He was lucky enough in his lifetime to get 15 holes in one.  He had a passion for fishing in Canada and going to the beach with his wife, Becky.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Becky; dear friends; daughter, Lois (Steve) Davis of Lancaster and grandsons, Ben Davis and Garrett Davis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Jane Clum, brother Steve Rosier and step-father Kenny Davis.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, JULY 29, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Methodist Church Cemetery on George Road with Rev. Nick England officiating.  The Lancaster Veterans Burial Detail will conduct military rites at the cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, LANCASTER, OHIO.
