Freddie Roberta Jackson Layton Staley 78 of Lancaster, Ohio Our beloved mother Freddie left this earth to dance and sing in heaven peacefully the early morning hours of June 10, 2022 following a long illness. She was surrounded by the endless love of her daughter Susan who loved, visited and cared for her selflessly and grandchildren Madison, Hunter and Cole. Our family sends heartfelt thanks to the kind and compassionate staff at Carriage Court and the Hospice Team from for making her transition as peaceful as was possible.  May she Rest in Peace.  She was born on December 3, 1943 in Cardwell, Missouri to the late Robert Jackson and Florida Jean Hatcher-Jackson.

Freddie is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Staley of Delray Beach, FL and Susan Staley of Lancaster, OH; grandchildren, Chance Staley and wife Hadley of Littleton, CO, Madison Staley of Lancaster, OH, Sara Staley of Tallahassee, FL, Hunter Staley of Lancaster, OH, Alex Staley-Brown of Lowell, MA and Cole Wadkins of Lancaster, OH; great grandchildren, Thea Michelle Wilson of Lancaster, OH and Freeman Staley, Littleton, CO.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Layton, parents, brother Vernon Cary Jackson, beloved aunts Edna Marie Cannon, Erma Maude Grandstaff and Helen MacDonald.

Her wish was to be cremated. Caring Cremation® is being handled by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, LANCASTER, OHIO.  A thank you to George Barnes and staff for your kind care of our mother and our family.

A private Celebration of Life with family and close friends will take place this summer.  We thank you for holding kind memories of our mother and we appreciate your prayers during this difficult time.
