Freda Elick

Freda M. Elick, 91, of Heath, formerly of Lancaster, died Monday, October 26, 2015, in Hospice Care at Licking Memorial Hospital. The eldest daughter of the late Andy and Mary Hedges of Amanda, was born July 30, 1924, in Fairfield County.

She is survived by daughter, Robin (Elick) Hicks-Darby (Mike) of Heath; two brothers, Paul Hedges of Amanda and Carl Hedges of Lancaster; three sisters, Ruth Mathews of Connecticut, Martha Fishbaugh of Reynoldsburg, and Dorothy Bruning of Amanda; one granddaughter, Amber Hicks; one grandson, James (JJ) Hicks; and a great granddaughter. She is also survived by several step-grandchildren; step-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews;

Freda was preceded in death by husband, Clarence W. Elick; parents, Andy and Mary Hedges; two step-daughters, Rebecca Coakley and Sharon (Elick) Graf; one step-grandchild; two sisters, Eileen Ogg and Catherine Nace; brother, James Ray; two half brothers, Virgil Hedges and Earl Hedges; and two half sisters, Alma Long and Florence Freeman.

Graveside services will be Thursday, October 29, 2015, at 2:00 PM in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Lancaster with Pastor David McManis officiating.

Services are being handled by the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, Lancaster.
