Francis L. Woods

Francis Leroy Woods, 77 of Lancaster passed away on Feb 4th, 2022 to be forever with his Lord and Savior.

Francis was born in Columbus on December 9, 1944 to John C. and Lucille Carpenter Woods. Francis was a member of The Lancaster Pilgrim Church. He was a 1963 graduate of Bloom Carroll High School. He retired from the Fairfield County Engineers Office in 2002 as Road Superintendent. Francis was also a member of the Ohio National Guard, serving his country from 1965 to 1971.

Francis is survived by brother; Charles W. (Cindy) Woods of Carroll; nieces, Donita (Charles) Wilkins and Nikki (Jeremy) Johnson; a nephew Scott (Sueann) Woods; and four great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John C. and Lucille Woods, brother, John E. Woods, and a niece Jessica Woods.

A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Feb. 16, 2022 at The Frank E. Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Craig C. Cessna officiating. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home from 5PM until 8PM on Tuesday and one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Francis’s name to the Lancaster Pilgrim Church, 2894 West Fair Ave., Lancaster, OH 43130.
