Frances Louise Ralston, 98, of Millersport, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at the Bickford of Lancaster.
Fran was born November 21, 1923 in Punxsutawney PA of the late Fred S. and Aleta M. (Mottarn) Ellenberger. She graduated High School in 1941 and later went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Navy during WWII. After marrying Joseph Ralston in 1949, Fran and Joe moved to Millersport in 1961 to raise their family. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Millersport Lioness Club, Millersport American Legion Post #637, Monticello Mothers Club, Gabby Gals Euchre Club and was active in the Millersport Minstrels.
Fran was most proud of raising her eight children and her 37 years of selling Avon. She enjoyed watching her children's activities, reading, bowling, cards and bingo.
She is survived by her children Tim (Cathy) Ralston, Marcia Vogel, Diane (Mike) Spears, Nancy Hopkins Waller, Roberta Hughes (David) Camp, Aleta (Jeff) Burnside and Theresa Ralston; grandchildren Bob (Kim) Ralston, Kyle (Nicole) Ralston, Jason Spears (Jess Helms), Jessica (Nick) Voltolini, Steve (Abby) Spears, Adam (Katie) Ponton, Kathleen (Chris) Clewell, Alex (Brittany) Hopkins, Lindsay Hughes (Shaun Lance), Meredith Hughes, Madison (Trent) Glover, Aaron (Megan) Burnside, Daniel Burnside and 18 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Joseph, son Charles, sister Norma Moore, brother Charles Ellenberger, sons-in-law Richard Hughes and James Waller and brother-in-law John Moore
The family would like to thank the Bickford staff, as well as the nurses and aides at FairHope Hospice for their excellent end of life care.
Friends may visit Friday, June 17, 2022, from 11:00-12:30 p.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 1:00 pm at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Buckeye Lake with Father Bill Hritsko as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Millersport Cemetery. A live broadcast of the funeral service will be hosted on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. on the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home and Crematory Facebook page. Arrangements are being handled by the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, BALTIMORE, OHIO 43105.
