Florence Friend

Florence M. Dennison Friend, age 97, of Lancaster, died January 27th, at Fairfield Medical Center. She was born on July 31, 1917 in Carroll, to the late Charles and Edna Hall Dennison. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Olivedale in Lancaster. She was a wonderful housekeeper who loved her family deeply and will be greatly missed .

Florence is survived by her daughter, Shirley (John) Mosier; grandchildren, Christy (Dewey)Boggs, Carla (Mark) Westhoven, Julie (Alan) Peterson, Scott (Ginny) Congrove, and Donna (Curt) Darfus; four great grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Watkins; brother, Charles William Dennison; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold N. Friend; daughter, Virginia Mae Brown; son-in-law, Larry Brown; parents; brothers, Francis L., John and Harold L. Dennison; and sisters, Opal Loy, Marie Ety and Minnie Starner.
A service will take place on Saturday at 10:30AM at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, officiated by Rev. Cheryl Foulk. Family and friends may call on Friday from 2 until 4PM and 6 until 8PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Hampson Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.funeralhome.com.
