Florence Olive Davis, 93 passed away Friday, August 15, 2014 at Carriage Court in Lancaster. She was born in South Bloomingville, Oh, Hocking County to the late Charles F. and Etta Steele Davis.
Florence graduated from South Bloomingville High School in 1938. She worked at Murphy's in Logan before moving to Lancaster where she worked at Essex Wire. After retiring, she worked for a time in Home Health Care. She was a member of Wesley Chapel Church in South Bloomingville. She did attend Friendly 60's at Faith Memorial and was a member of Olivedale Senior Citizens Center.
Florence is survived by nieces, Mary Davis, Margie Davis and Marilyn (Bob) Jepsen, and nephews Bob (Janet) Davis and James (Jan) Davis and a cousin Wendell Davis. Also surviving are several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Delbert and Frieda Davis, a sister, Myrtle Davis, an infant brother and nephews, Clark Davis and Don Davis.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at 11:00 a. m. at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Rev. Cheryl Foulk officiating. Burial to follow in New Fairview Cemetery, Rockbridge, OH. Friends may visit Tuesday from 9-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
