Flora Mae Waller Lukens 85 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at the Pickering House. She was born on May 1, 1929 in Union Vale, Ohio to the late Harvey W. and Jessie A. Busby Waller.
She was a telephone operator for Ohio Bell and later it became Consolidated Telephone Co. for 11 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church on Pleasantville Rd.and O.C.C.L.
Flora is survived by her husband, Ernest “Ernie” Lukens; son, Mark Lukens of Columbus, Ohio; daughter, Lori A. Lukens of Jackson, Ohio; three grandchildren, Jason Poling, Beth (Paul) Poling Butcher and Daniel Poling II; four great-grandchildren, Gracie Mae Poling, Paul David Butcher, Lela Jean Butcher, and Angel Marie Poling; sister, Betty Waller Smith of Cadiz, Ohio; sister-in-law, Maxine Lukens of North Canton, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, several brothers and several sisters.
Funeral service will be held Monday, August 11, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Dr. John Beckett officiating. Burial to follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may visit Monday from 11-1 p.m. at the funeral home.
