Evelyn M. Coleman

Evelyn M. Coleman 87 of Lancaster, Ohio passed went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at her residence. 

She was a retired secretary for Dixon United Methodist Church. Evelyn was a member of Fairfield Christian Church where she volunteered in pre-school education for seven years for the Fairfield Christian Academy. She also was a volunteer for the Dayton Library Annual Sale, taught Sunday School, sang in the church choir, crocheted and made wedding cakes.

Evelyn loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Norman (Julie) Coleman III of Mason, Kevin (Theresa) Coleman of Elyria, Lonnie Coleman of Columbus and Lane Bennett of Lancaster; 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; brothers, James P. (Jackie) Morgan of Fairborn and Quinn Morgan of Georgia; aunts, Iona Allen and Juanita Lowe both of Brooklyn, New York; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Norman H. Coleman, Jr., granddaughter Linnea Coleman, parents Randolph and Celestine Brown, sisters Andrea Dameron and Louella Chester, brothers Randolph, Howard and Harry Brown and son-in-law Randy Bennett.

Funeral service will be held Monday, December 30, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Fairfield Christian Church with Pastor Scott Stem officiating. Caring Cremation® is to follow. Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the church on Monday.

Memorial gifts may be given to Fairfield Christian Academy, 1965 N. Columbus St., Lancaster, Ohio 43130 in her memory.
