Eugene Thomas Konkler Jr. 70, of Lancaster, passed on October 21, 2021 doing what he loved, riding his motorcycle. He was born on Oct. 2, 1951 to the late Eugene and Bertha Konkler. He was an LHS graduate and a licensed steam engineer. He worked at the paper mill in Baltimore for 45 years and has had his motorcycle shop, Adrenaline Performance even longer. He literally fixed, owned, or rebuilt 1000s of bikes over the years and we will always be in awe of his knowledge. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carol, who went into this marriage knowing that she would have to share custody of him with the garage. His two children, Christina (James) Nelms and James (Megan) Konkler who couldn’t have asked for a better father, teacher, joker, mentor, or friend. Also survived by his grandchildren, Stephanie (Tyler) Fulk, Arika Nelms, Bailey Nelms, Pehrson Nelms, Jaxson Konkler, Layla Konkler; great grandchildren, Maddie, Violet, and J.J.; sister, Karen (Charles) Braden; brother, Gary (Jennifer) Konkler; several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Eugene was a jack of all trades. He was, as mom ever so politely said to a telemarketer,”he’s my electrician, plumber, roofer, and repairman, so I don’t need anyone else.” Eugene, A.K.A. Junior, Gene, or Buster, could talk to anyone about anything. He never stopped learning or teaching about things, nor missed an opportunity to be right. He was a skilled machinist, if you couldn’t find it, he made it. He was an amazing mechanic that could fix anything, but motorcycles were his passion. Over 50 years of experience lived in him and we as his children were lucky enough to learn from him.
He was also a member of several organizations, the Eagles, Anglers Paradise, Masonic Lodge, Widow's Sons M.C., Hocking County Fish and Game, and the NRA.
We invite all of Eugene’s friends and family to come celebrate his life. Bring a memory to share because he needs to be remembered with a smile, a laugh, or a giggle. The funeral service will take place on Friday at 3PM at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home 405 N Columbus St., Lancaster. Caring Cremation™ will follow the service. Friends and family may visit Friday from 1PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Online condolences can be made at www.funeralhome.com
