Esther Boyer

Esther L. Boyer, 94, of Millersport, Ohio, died on Sunday, July 23, 2017, at McCafferty Adult Care.

Esther was a member of the Millersport Covenant Church. She was the Valedictorian of the class of 1942 at Millersport High School. She worked for a short time at Newark A.F.B. Esther then devoted her life to being a wonderful and loving mother, even taking time to teach her children to play baseball.

She is survived by her 3 sons and 1 daughter, Ron Boyer of Winchester, California, Ken Boyer of Millersport, Ohio, Steve and Carol Boyer of Florence, Kentucky, and Juanita Boyer of Florence, Kentucky; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and niece and nephews, Beverly, Dean, and Dale.

Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil G. Boyer; parents, John and Lulu (Foster) Grubaugh; great grandson, Jacob Wallace; sister, Alice Warner; brothers, Carl, John, Forest, Earl, and Dale Grubaugh; and nephew, John Grubaugh

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday at the Johnson-Smith Funeral Home, 207 S. Main St, Baltimore, Ohio 43105 with Pastor Steven Bush officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery in Jacksontown, Ohio. Family and friends may visit from 11 AM to 1 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
