Eric Karl Morse passed away April 7, 2014.
Born in Ashtabula, and raised in Lancaster, Ohio, he lived most of his adult life in Livermore, California. He graduated from Lancaster High School in 1974, worked at Anchor Hocking for a number of years, and then broke free to California.
Eric was a freebird and adventurer. He lived life his way and on his terms. He worked in communications; installing phone, computer, and security systems. He made it a point to excel at everything he did whether it was work or play. At work, Eric was known and admired for his dedication to quality, craftsmanship and blue collar work ethic.
But what we will remember most are his adventures. He was an avid backpacker, rock climber, kayaker, windsurfer, sailboat racer, and motorcycle rider. He approached each interest with the intent to learn it, perfect it, and enjoy it fully. He lived his bucket list and ours too. We are extremely proud of him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lynn Morse and Nettie Morse; and siblings Tim Morse and Janette Morse Phillips. He is survived by siblings Brian Morse, Ginny Morse Ruyf (Rob), Bill Morse (Dawn), and Jim Morse (Tammy); stepmom Alice Morse; stepsister Karen Young (Greg); nieces and nephews: Sarah Morse, Eric (Samantha) and Mike Heinlein; Melanie and Angela Morse; Lindsey, Jodi and David Tipple, Blake Smith and Eric Morse; as well as a multitude of grandnieces and nephews. He was also survived by a great family of friends in both Ohio and California who miss him dearly.
To celebrate his life and our love for him, we will be gathering at Sweeneys Pub in Lancaster on April 26 from 2-4.
In lieu of flowers, consider making a donation to the American Diabetes Assoc. or, better yet, go outside, take a deep breath, and for god's sake, scratch something off your bucket list!
