Emma "Jean" Bickel

Emma “Jean” Bickel, 91, died Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Fairfield Medical Center. 

Jean was born October 6, 1933 in Crooksville, Ohio to the late George Gail Russell and Laura Bell (Reed) Russell. 

Jean is survived by daughter Mary Ellen Morales; step-daughter Tracy (Mike) Romine-Smith; step-daughter and special friend Kim May; grandchildren Gary Smith, Jr., Brian Smith, Brandi (Devin) Kisor, Branden (Sasha) Romine, Mary Ella Morales, Walter “Franky” Morales, and Blu Morales; as well as numerous great grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter Karmella “Kandi” Smith; sisters Ethel Read, Virginia Moore, June Wise, Mildred Walters, and Charlotte Knepp; brothers Paul and Danny Russell; and ex-husband Kenneth Bickel. 

Caring Cremation® is being handled through the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held in Jean’s honor at a later date.
