Elver (Jay) Bruckelmeyer, 83, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday afternoon, December 13, 2011 at his residence in Pensacola, Florida. He was born on November 12, 1928 and raised in Columbus Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn (Clark) Bruckelmeyer and is survived by his loving wife, Raye of Pensacola, Florida, and two sons Chuck, (Debbie) of Zanesville, Ohio and Mike, (Julie) of Millersport, Ohio, step children, Ronald Davis, Pamela (John) Trubshaw , Jimmy (Glenda) Davis and Michael (Glenda) Davis. Jay is also survived by his sister, Barbara Olson, of Nevada, as well as seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jay retired from Rockwell Intl. and was a veteran of the Air Force and an avid singer. He was member of the Masons, and past Master of Potter Lodge #540. Jay was also a member of the Scottish Rite, and a member of the Aladdin Shrine Temple where he was and active member of the Chanters and the Jesters units.
Jays family will receive friends on Tuesday December, 20 at the Johnson-Smith Funeral Home in Baltimore, Ohio from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday December 21 at 10am with burial at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Lancaster with Pastor Ron Murdock officiating.
