Elva Georgene Martens

Elva Georgene Martens age 93 of Lancaster Ohio passed away on Monday November 14, 2022. Elva was born in Lancaster to the late George and Huldah Yantes on August 12th,1929.

She enjoyed a long career with ATT/Ohio Bell. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lancaster, and was an active member of Frank S. Benson Sr. TWIG 7 supporting Fairfield Medical Center.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary (Lawrence) Saxon; her sister Marilyn (Charles) Stuckey; grandchildren John (Misty) Saxon; Autumn Saxon; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John S. Martens; her brothers, Berle, Francis, Vincent, and Leonard Yantes; her sisters, Garnet Sewell and Marjorie (Ted) Shugert; and her parents.

A funeral service will take place on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 1 PM in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. Columbus St., Lancaster, OH 43130. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Family and friends may visit on Friday November 18th 2022 from 6pm to 8 pm, and Saturday November 19th 2022 from 12 noon until the time of the service on Saturday.
