Edwin George Beery, age 75 of Lancaster, passed away on April 12, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was born on March 31, 1947 to the late George and Helen Scholl Beery in Lancaster. He was a 1965 graduate of Lancaster High School. Who served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam era. He loved being a farmer, and was involved with several boards, including the Fairfield Co. Soil and Water Conservation Board for 25 years, Fairfield Co. Farm Bureau, and Farm Bureau Council. Edwin was named the Pork All American in 1982, the Fairfield Union Farmer of the Year, and he was involved with the Fairfield Union Young Farmers. Edwin and his wife Vicki also were involved with the Farm Bureau Youth Group. He was on the First English Lutheran Church Council where he was an officer. Most of all, Edwin loved spending time with his family and friends and his amazing personality and love for life will be greatly missed by all.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Vicki A. James Beery; daughter, Teri (Jeff) Craiglow; sons, Aaron (Stephanie) Beery and Brian (Lorrie) Beery; grandchildren, Hannah (Chase) Runyon, Alexis and Aidan Craiglow, Noah, Brice, Aubree, William and Emma Beery; great grandchildren, Brentlee and Bryar Runyon ; brother, Paul (Linda) Beery; twin sister, Edna Beery Awalt; mother-in-law, Betty James; brother-in-law, Ron Ramey; sister-in-law, Barb Beery; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Esther Ramey; brother, Charles Beery; granddaughter, Hope Beery; brother-in-law Alan Awalt; and father-in-law, Carl James.
The Beery family would like to give a special thanks to all the staff at Country Lane Gardens, and Fairfield Medical Center especially the 3rd Floor nurses.
A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Brian Dillahunt, will take place at the First English Lutheran Church, on Tuesday, Apr. 19th at 11AM. Burial will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery with the Lancaster Veteran Burial Detail having military honors. Family and friends may visit on Monday, Apr. 18th from 2PM until 4PM and 6PM until 8PM at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, 405 N. Columbus St. and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tue. Donations can be made in Edwin’s name to First English Lutheran Church, 220 N.
