Edith L. McGill, age 77, of Baltimore, passed away April 10, 2014 at her residence. She was born on January 24th, 1937 in Cane Creek, KY to Admiral Dewey and Grettie Edwards Lyons. She worked as a nurse’s aid at Alum Crest until retiring. Edith was an amazing cook, a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who enjoyed taking care of her family.
She was survived by her children, Karen (Cassy) Talamantes of Thurston, David (Connie) McGill of Baltimore; daughter-in-law, Lisa McGill; grandchildren, Chris Osborne, Wesley (Christy) McGill, Lindsey (Leroy) Colfield, Heather (Brock) Mokas, and Paul McGill; great-grandchildren, Colton and Lilly Jean McGill, and Jaidon and Tristin Mokas; several nieces and nephews; wonderful neighbors / friends, Harold and Diana Frances, and four legged companions, Tucker and Taz.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles McGill; sons, Jimmy and Lannie McGill; brothers, Edgel and Edsel Lyons.
A service will take place on Monday at 3pm at the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME in Baltimore, officiated by Pastor Roy Maple. A graveside service will take place following the service at Obetz Cemetery, 4455 Groveport Rd. Columbus, OH 43207. Family and friends may call from 1PM until the time of service at the funeral home on Monday. Memorials can be made in her name to FairHoPe Hospice 282 Sells Rd. Lancaster, OH 43130.
